Myfab Uppsala

The Ångström Laboratory is a powerful environment for a broad spectrum of materials science. Myfab Uppsala is the core facility, providing advanced process and analysis tools for micro- and nanotechnology. In the Myfab cleanroom, the entire sequence from realization to evaluation is available under one roof. We provide an open user facility for university and industry personnel active in research or development.

The lab staff is responsible for the lab operation, such as:

- cleanroom infrastructure
- equipment maintenance
- user education, training and support
- development and control of processes and methods
- commissions for internal and external customers

Myfab Uppsala is a state-of-the-art laboratory and a competent organization that provide a link between university research and industrial development.

Prime Minister Ulf Kristersson visited NanoLund for a tour of the nano lab, discussions on how to make science, technology, engineering, and maths education more popular, to learn more about semiconductors and the technology behind them.

Lund Nano Lab had a prominent visit from Prime Minister Ulf Kristersson and his entourage – and got to talk about semiconductors, nanoscience, nanotechnology, and the importance of keeping the competence growing, academia, and industry hand in hand.

“This shows that semiconductors and chips are high on the agenda, also in Sweden, and it felt like the prime minister was very interested,” said Lars-Erik Wernersson who presented an outline for a national agenda for semiconductors.

Lund University, Chalmers University of Technology, and KTH Royal Institute of Technology – three universities that account for the majority of Swedish education and research in the field of semiconductors – are now joining forces to strengthen the supply of skills and access to research infrastructure in the country.
