Individual User Access

User access enables you to perform your own research and development work in the high-end cleanroom facilities within the Myfab infrastructure. The service is available to academic researchers as well as industry professionals, granting access to a truly creative and innovative environment. Education and training related to the available tools and processes can be provided by expert staff at the laboratories.

This is a brief description of the steps required to work independently in our cleanroom facilities. Specific details may differ between the labs and the local procedure should be followed when you have made your choice of laboratory.

Select the Myfab lab that is geographically and technologically most suitable for your work. Information on this web site and discussions with the lab staff will guide your decision. All Myfab’s resources are available to you throughout the infrastructure on equal conditions

Learn how to use the lab

Prospective users must attend basic training to gain access to the lab. The program covers safety, cleanroom behaviuor, and practical matters such as how to use Myfab’s booking system , logging and information exchange system Myfab LIMS. Once yuo gain access, you must also undergo training and then apply for a license for the specific tools you plan to use.

Get to work!

Once you have obtained the driver’s licenses you need, you can book the tools in Myfab LIMS and use them to run your project under the same conditions as all other users. Tool usage is booked to your project and invoiced periodically.

Process Service & Collaboration

If you are not prepared to enter the lab yourself, or if you need something in addition to user access, we will help to find the right solution for you. You may want to run a limited test or a single process step. We will do the job or provide the contact.

Remote processing

Some of our tools and processes are well suited for, and in some cases only accessible through remote processing. This means that you place an order with the information and material we need to deliver according to your specifications.

Process services & development projects

In a more general case a customized solution may be required. Contact the lab nearest you or the lab with the right resources for your project and initiate a discussion based on your needs and expectations. Together we will look for the best solution, which may involve our lab engineers, a research institute team or an academic research group with expertise and interest in your field.

Incubator

An important part of our mission is to provide suitable conditions to let start-up companies grow and prosper. You may need your own exclusive tool for a critical step in your process and we may have the cleanroom space available. We are ready to discuss and look for solutions to any issue with a connection to our lab environment.

Training & Education

Being affiliated with highly ranked universities, education is part of our mission. Our lab staff provides all practical education and hands-on training needed to be a lab user. More theoretical courses, offered within our close environment, provide excellent introductions to, or in-depth knowledge about, the techniques and processes available in our laboratories.

Cleanroom introduction

If you are about to enter one of our sites as an active user, you must attend our common cleanroom introduction. This course covers safety, chemical handling, cleanroom behavior and practical matters, such as how to use Myfabs booking ,

logging and information exchange system Myfab LIMS. See local pages for schedules and registration procedures.

Operator’s training

If you are a Myfab user, with access to any of our sites, all our tools are at your disposal. In most cases you can book and run the tool yourself as soon as you have had the appropriate training and obtained the corresponding operator’s licence. Hands-on training is scheduled with the tool responsible engineer, who also issues the licence when you are ready to work on your own.

Myfab LIMS – Booking System

Myfab LIMS is the booking system used by the Myfab labs. It provides access to advanced equipment in four Swedish cleanrooms. This system supports efficient user access and planning, setting the European standard. Used by 18 cleanrooms across Europe and several Swedish university labs, it enhances R&D efficiency and collaboration.

Pilot Line Services

Accelerate your technology development with our pilot line services. Scale up and optimize new technologies before full production, reducing risks and speeding up commercialization. Our pilot lines build smaller versions of production lines, test and adjust processes, then scale up, ensuring controlled manufacturing environments.

Under the EU Chips Act, Myfab labs at Chalmers, Lund, and KTH will join the WBG pilot line, focusing on developing wide band gap (WBG) semiconductor technology for power and RF electronics. This initiative aims to improve high-performance components, create innovative products, and enhance materials and processes. Implementation is in the early stages, and the exact details will be known later.
